Honestly….

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a personal blog and it’s because at the moment my life hasn’t been the easiest and my walk with God tried over and over again and to be honest my life is crazy at the moment! Trials being thrown at me left and right! Its insaneeee! Its a critical moment in my life defining me in attitude, character and faith. I only rejoice because I know that God is with me till the end protecting me, encouraging me and at the end of it all blessing me!

Daily I am encouraged by the work of the Spirit in those around me doing things possible only by the grace of God and it encourages me in my own walk to continue the pursuit of holiness. I fall short so many times, but his grace is always there to catch me. So, among the mess and confusion that life can be remember that God is truth and he holds us in the palm of his hand. We aren’t forgotten, we are eternally loved.

Also enjoy this song ‘White Man’ by Gungor. It’s funny and speaks truth :)

My feelings are not God. God is God. My feelings do not define truth. God’s word defines truth. My feelings are echoes and responses to what my mind perceives. And sometimes - many times - my feelings are out of sync with the truth. When that happens - and it happens every day in some measure - I try not to bend the truth to justify my imperfect feelings, but rather, I plead with God: Purify my perceptions of your truth and transform my feelings so that they are in sync with the truth.

Internal Conversation;

Me: Sometimes you have to put on different faces to impress different people.

Hs: Did Jesus do that?

Me: No, but he didn’t have to depend on other people for his livelihood, he only had to respond to God.

Hs: So do you.

OH right!… that was a nice wakeup call! We can get so caught up with impressing the right people so that maybe we can get ahead here, or maybe they can put in a good word for us there. We become dependent on other people for our livelihood and a life like that will be filled with disappointment, because let’s face it people will fail us. Impressing anyone but God is a futile pursuit. So let’s put our trust back in God because he will meet our every need! Like we didn’t already know that! Sometimes reminders are helpful ;)

“Trust the Lord with all your heart, and don’t depend on your own understanding. Remember the Lord in all you do, and he will bring you success.” Proverbs 3:5-6
